What is TED?

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to discovering and spreading ideas that spark conversation, deepen understanding, and inspire change. It began in 1984 as a conference uniting Technology, Entertainment and Design, and has since expanded to cover a vast range of topics — from science and business to culture and global issues. Today, TED Talks are available in more than 100 languages, reaching audiences worldwide.

What is TEDx?

The TEDx program empowers communities, organizations, and individuals to spark meaningful conversations and foster connections through independently organized events that capture the spirit of TED. These local, TED-style experiences are designed to highlight ideas that matter and bring people together around shared curiosity and innovation.

About TEDxOrbisSchool

TEDx is a program of independently organized local events designed to bring people together for a TED-like experience. These events combine TED Talk videos and live speakers to inspire meaningful discussion within small communities. While each TEDx event is self-organized, they follow guidelines provided by the TED Conference to ensure consistency with the spirit of “ideas worth spreading.”

Our Theme

The Quiet Revolution celebrates the subtle yet transformative shifts that shape our world from beneath the surface. It honours the individuals, ideas, and movements that create meaningful change not through noise or force, but through persistence, innovation, and the courage to challenge norms in silence. This theme invites speakers to explore the unseen influences, overlooked stories, and gentle disruptions that slowly but powerfully redefine how we think, live, and connect. It reminds us that revolutions don’t always roar—sometimes, they whisper.
